This is the first post in a planned series documenting everything currently out there for non-techs, to create incredible looking websites, and trust me when i say there is a tonne of resources out there. My goal is to be as open as possible and share everything along the way.
It is crazy how many people don’t have a website for their small businesses. I have met various individuals with small businesses who haven’t considered creating a website either because they think they don’t know how or they consider them to be expensive.
It’s a myth! Anyone can create a website!
So if you don’t know where to start — start here! Start by having an online presence and establishing your own branding. Whether you want to start an online business or you are just looking to create a blog site to attract a like-minded audience, having a visually appealing and user-friendly website is crucial if you want any chance of success.
There are huge variety of website builders out there which are currently exploding in popularity precisely because they enable users to create websites without knowing any coding or experience of design. In fact, Website Builders do not require any technical knowledge at all. I promise you this, as i don’t have any myself and created the majority of this website in one weekend.
Although each website builder comes in different sizes and flavors, they typically include WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) builders that let you create your website by dragging and dropping website elements into the content area. Super easy!
Thus, these awesome website builders make it almost impossible for people to have an excuse for not setting up their blogs, stores, portfolios to name a few of the possibilities. Check out one of my personal e-commerce website, fiilo. This was up and running in two weeks and now basically runs itself! More to come on that later.
Now this is not to say professional website designers/developers are now redundant, not at all. Im simply stating for a simple responsive website with minimal functionality they are not required. For a host of custom-built features you are still going to require a professional designer.
The sheer amount of options out there is overwhelming and daunting but fortunately for you, i’m here to start getting more people online and will continue to provide you with resources, tips and hints through these forthcoming posts. So keep checking back! And if you like this post please click that green heart below!
